Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

Prompt: A time when I had to write a poem was when I was in middle school. We had to write multiple different types of poems. For some of the types of poems it was easy to write them, but for others it was harder because they were more complex. For some of the poems I needed to have a better understanding of what I wrote them about. I was proud of some of the poems I had written, but others I didn't like how I had written them and thought they could have been better.

Summary: Today in class we annotated a poem.

Reflection: This will help me get better at annotating pieces of literature. It will also help me be able to break down poems and understand what the author is really saying.

Think of a time when you tried to persuade someone to agree with you, change their mind, or do something you wanted. What were you trying to persuade them to do or believe? How did you use ethos, pathos, or logos to persuade them? Which appeal was most effective and why?
