 Prompt: The learning method I enjoy the most is hands-on activities. I enjoy hands-on activities the most because they help me understand what we are learning better. I learn and understand things better by physically doing it rather than just taking notes on it. I also enjoy doing hands-on activities because it makes me feel productive. Another reason I like hands-on activities is because most of the time they are fun and involve talking to other classmates which can help me get a better understanding of what we're learning. Summary: Today in class we worked on writing claims. Reflection: Today we worked on writing claims which will help me be able to write a good argumentative essay. Being able to write and identify a claim in a piece of writing will help me become a better writer and do well on the AP test.

Describe something you will never fully understand

 Prompt: Something I will never fully be able to explain is how WiFi works. I don't understand how things connect to the WiFi and then start working. People have tried to explain it to me before but it just makes it more confusing. I don't understand how satellites in space are able to send signals down and it makes the WiFi work. I also don't understand how WiFi was created. Maybe one day i'll understand it better, but I don't think I will ever fully understand it. Summary: Today in class we worked on creating an Argumentative paragraph. Reflection: We learned the steps to making an Argumentative paragraph which will help me be able to write a good Argumentative essay. It will also help me learn how to plan my essay for the AP test.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

 Prompt: One thing that makes me different from other people is my empathy. I am a very empathetic person, and I always make sure I'm looking out for others. I tend to feel bad for people if they are going through something on a deeper level and try to connect with them to make sure they know that I'm here for them. I make sure to think before I speak to take account of if my words will hurt others, even if I don't mean it in a bad way. I think empathy is a harder trait to find in people nowadays, so I try and make sure that I remain an empathetic person because it's important to me. My friends have told me that one of their favorite things about me is how empathetic I am, and that means a lot to me. Summary: Today in class we analyzed video clips for rhetorical situations and we took a quiz. Reflection: Analyzing the video clips will help me better understand rhetorical situations. It will also help me with being able to identify these situations in a text.

 Prompt: Living in Atlanta has influenced the way I see my community in many ways. It has helped me see how diverse and connected we are and how that makes living in Atlanta meaningful. I want people to understand that Atlanta is a beautiful place and because we are so diverse, Atlanta has so much to offer. Atlanta has so many different types of shops, restaurants, and activities that anyone would enjoy. I would encourage people to learn about the history of Atlanta and why it is so important and meaningful to those who live here. Reflection: We listened to Mayor Bottoms "Go home" speech and analyzed it which helped me better understand rhetorical situation. What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

 Prompt: The most creative thing I have ever made was for my 8th grade science fair. My friend and I chose to do our project on which brand of popcorn has the least amount of un-popped kernels. We spent multiple weeks working on both the experiment and the aesthetics of the project and it turned out great. Our board for the project was very on theme with our experiment and we put a lot of time and effort into it. I'm not the most artistic person, so I was very proud of how it turned out and I had so much fun doing the project. Summary: Today in class we went over rhetorical devices. Reflection: We went over identifying rhetorical devices in speech. This will help with my writing because I am now more familiar with rhetorical devices.

Describe a time you felt completely lost.

 Prompt: A time when I felt completely lost was when I was writing this blog post. I couldn't think of any time that I felt completely lost except for right now. I'm sure there have been times when I felt lost, but for some reason I can't think of any. Maybe it's because I'm super tired but my mind is completely blank. I guess this is a perfect example of being completely lost as that's exactly how I feel right now. Summary: Today in class we worked on Claims. Reflection: Today in class we did an assignment that helped with our understanding of claims. This assignment helped me better understand the types of claims and how to write a strong claim.

Write about something that you believed as a child.

 Prompt: When I was younger I believed that Santa Claus was real. I always remember being so excited on Christmas Eve to wake up and see what Santa had brought me. Me and my brother would wake up super early and open our stockings, but we weren't allowed to wake our parents up until 7. We would sit and be so excited wondering what Santa had brought us, and thinking back on those times makes me feel so nostalgic. I will always remember my Christmas's before I found out Santa wasn't real and I can't wait until I have kids of my own so I can relive those moments all over again.
