After reviewing the feedback on your argument essay, identify one thing you did well and one area you need to improve. Explain what you will do differently the next time you write an AP Lang argument essay.

 Prompt: One thing I did well on my argumentative essay was I provided relevant evidence throughout my essay and I consistently explain how it supports my argument. One thing I need to improve on is making my claims more precise and adding greater complexity to my reasoning. The next time I write an argumentative essay for AP Lang I will make sure to add a counter claim to work towards earning the sophistication point. I will also work toward having more specific evidence improve the weaknesses of my argument. This will help me do even better on my essay and will help me work towards getting a 4 or 5 on the AP test.

Summary: Today in class we reviewed our essay feedback and worked on our poem project.

Reflection: Reviewing my essay feedback will tell me what I need to improve on in the future. Writing a poem will help increase my writing skills and help me be able to write multiple types of literature.

Think of a time when you tried to persuade someone to agree with you, change their mind, or do something you wanted. What were you trying to persuade them to do or believe? How did you use ethos, pathos, or logos to persuade them? Which appeal was most effective and why?

 Prompt: I persuaded my parents to go to Seaside for Spring Break. My parents didn't want to go because it was going to be super crowded and busy, but I was able to persuade them. I used Ethos, Pathos, and Logos to persuade them and I told them how most of my friends were going and that it would be super fun. We had already been before so I used that to convince them that I was already aware of how to get to places and how to be safe while doing so. Pathos was the most effective because my parents wanted me to have fun and they felt like it was important for me to be with my friends.  Prompt: Living in Atlanta has influenced the way I see my community in many ways. It has helped me see how diverse and connected we are and how that makes living in Atlanta meaningful. I want people to understand that Atlanta is a beautiful place and because we are so diverse, Atlanta has so much to offer. Atlanta has so many different types of shops, restaurants, and activities that anyone would enjoy. I would encourage people to learn about the history of Atlanta and why it is so important and meaningful to those who live here.
